BOSS Voyage Optimization Comparator

“Don’t calculate your voyage estimates, just compare it, choices allow best decision...!”

Comparator is a web application to plan voyage beforehand precisely in terms of ETA, multitude variables of market and Weather.

How it Works?
Voyage comparator is based on state of the art ship modelling, designed using advanced algorithms, complex hydrodynamic equations and machine learning. It uses vessels past performance data and other technical specifications like hull and propeller condition, displacement, draft, etc along with external factors like weather and current as input to calculate and compare various scenarios.

What it does?
Comparator  calculates accurate ETA basis C/P Speed by taking weather and other factors like freight, ETB window, bunker price, demurrage etc  in account.
It generates various scenarios so that user can do what if analysis to choose from different voyage schedules in terms of fuel savings / voyage earnings as suitable.
Comparator has user defined schedule in which user can prepare the schedule as per their required speed.

Better voyage planning would give better control on voyage, to get desired results and room for corrective actions, if need be arise.

How it helps?
ü  Derives Virtual ETA at C/P speed:
Voyage comparator derives accurate Virtual ETA at C/P speed utilizing sophisticated algorithms and resultant voyage earnings can be visualized real time.
ü  Inbuilt calculators:
It comprises of intrinsic calculator for freight, demurrage and expense computation.
ü  Prepare Comprehensive Voyage Schedules:
1)    Best Speed: Prepared basis latest ETB with minimum M/E Fuel consumption. Best suited for Ship owner.
2)    Min. Expenses: Prepared basis ETB for minimum expenses incurred during the voyage taking all the factors into an account. Best suited for charterers.
3)    Maximum TCE: Prepared basis ETB for maximum voyage earnings per day for TC vessels.
4)    Constant RPM: Prepared at constant RPM to achieve C/P or ordered Speed serves as benchmark.
5)    User Defined:   Prepared at speed as input by the user as per his requirement.

All the above schedules are simulated basis latest forecasted weather.
ü  Estimates voyage earnings:
Commercial factors like freight rate, fuel prices, demurrage etc can be entered, to decide on ETA/speed with maximum voyage earnings.

ü  Calculates fuel savings:
Fuel saving are calculated using most scientific and transparent method of Benchmarking.
ü  Benchmark is based on constant RPM which vessel must keep for achieving C/P / ordered speed and corresponding consumption in forecast weather conditions.
ü  Negotiator:
All the stakeholders can login simultaneously and with inbuilt chat feature can decide on best suitable plan for the voyage.
ü  Live Weather visualization:
En-routed weather and current visualizations can be seen live.
ü  Better arrangements of offshore resources :
Offshore facilities and resources can be better managed as ETA schedule is accurate.

v  Freight Calculator:
Freight calculator is used to calculate freight basis world scale rate or freight/day, as per user’s convenience.
v  Demurrage Calculator:
User can fill demurrage rate (USD/day) to automatically calculate demurrage.
v  Live bunker prices:
User can choose bunker price of four major bunker ports and three types of bunker in the world for calculations, if required fuel prices can be filled manually.
v  ETB window:
ETB window takes earliest and latest ETB date and time. User can enter preferred ETA /ETB for user can decide best suitable ETB window basis voyage earnings.
v  Best Speed Plan:
Best speed plan is based achieving latest ETB as provided by the user with minimum M/E fuel consumption.
v  Max TCE Plan:
Max TCE plan is based on ETB for which voyage earnings is maximum.
v  Minimum Expense Plan:
Minimum expense plan is based on ETA for which voyage expenses is minimum. It is designed specifically for charterer.
