23rd May 2019, Hong Kong – The shortlist for 2019’s Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia has been announced. Judged by an expert panel of industry thought-leaders and leading maritime CEOs, participating in these Awards give companies, regardless of size, the chance to tell their success stories to an international audience covering the entire APAC region and beyond, through maritime and shipping’s most prestigious honors program.
Today we are delighted in sharing with you that Blue Water Trade Winds Pvt. Ltd has been shortlisted in the prestigious Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia 2019 in the Fuel Efficiency category for our outstanding work in the voyage optimization domain with the help of Blue Water Optimum Speed Services (BOSS).
We heartily thank you for your patronage and encouragement, which inspired us, achieve this recognition in the industry.
Blue Water Optimum Speed Services (BOSS) is a voyage optimization concept built on the principles of intelligent speed simulation and routing in the forecast weather conditions. BOSS optimizes fuel consumption through planning and monitoring of optimum speed schedule without compromising on the arrival time as per charter party terms and conditions.
BOSS derives knowledge from completed voyage data using enhanced data mining techniques and marine hydrodynamic functions. Advanced algorithms are then applied for simulating the voyage in forecast weather taking into consideration all such factors that can affect voyage earnings, such as ETA at charter party speed, Freight, Demurrage, Bunker rates etc.  Besides having numerous innovative features for decision-making and voyage management, BOSS has a proven track record of saving over 5% fuel. The dynamic benchmarking process is yet another well-researched process that Blue Water developed for comparing main engine fuel consumptions on any voyage - with and without BOSS.
Over 64176.0 MT of the main engine, fuel was saved on 4700 voyages, managed by Blue Water in the last 12 months. This, in turn, corresponds to a reduction in emission by nearly 199587.3 MT (CO2, SOx & NOx).

    Being named a power of attorney does not make you an attorney. You do not have to be an attorney to be appointed as a Power Of Attorney (POA). Being named as a POA gives you a limited set of rights and choices to make on behalf of another person or entity.
